Majestic Valley Lodge is conveniently located in South central Alaska along Hwy 1, otherwise known as the Glenn Highway. The Glenn Highway was recently designated a National Scenic Byway. Majestic Valley is about ½ way between Palmer and Glenn Allen. For those traveling to different parts of the state, you will find that Majestic Valley is a convenient destination along your route to other areas such as: Denali National Park, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Prince William Sound- Valdez, and the Alaska Highway.
We recommend to those that are traveling via vehicle around the state to purchase a Milepost. This guide highlights various attractions along Alaska’s highway system. It also comes with a handy map and mileage guide.
Majestic Valley Lodge is at mile 114.9 on the Glenn Hwy. Even though the lodge mailing address is Sutton, the lodge is approximately another 60 miles past Sutton.

Directions from Anchorage
Drive NE on the picturesque Glenn Highway. At the first junction, veer right to Hwy 1 and Palmer. You will drive through the quaint little farming town of Palmer. This is a good place to stop and have lunch. Along Main street there are many cafes with various price options. Once back on the Glenn you will meander through the farming community of Palmer, past the Musk Ox Farm, along the Matanuska River, pass the Matanuska Glacier, and at about 2900 feet the lodge will be at mile 114.9 on the right hand side.
There is a large sign at the top of the driveway. Check in at the log lodge.
Directions from Glenn Allen
Drive south west on the Glenn Hwy, about 85 miles. Be looking at the green mile markers. The lodge is just past mile 115 on your left. There is a large sign at the top of the driveway. Check in at the log lodge.
