Summer:
 Hiking:
The Talkeetna Mountains offer numerous hikes of
various levels of difficulty. Use the lodge as a
base to explore the numerous local trails, such as:
Gunsight Mountain Dall Sheep Reserve, Caribou
Creek, Syncline Mountain, and Majestic Valley Ski
Trails for a more leisurely, wild flower hike,
overlooking the 500 foot canyon of the East Fork of
the Matanuska River. Every hike, except Caribou
Creek, allows one to walk out the door of the lodge
and start your hike.
 Rafting:
Rafting trips down the Matanuska are delightful.
NOVA
River Runners
has been offering rafting trips for years. They
provide all of the gear, the guide, and safety
instructions. There are various float trips
available, depending on your time and
interests.
Glacier
Treks:
The glorious Matanuska Glacier is ten miles
south on the Glenn Hwy and offers well marked
trails around and on the Glacier. Two companies do
guided treks onto the glacier: MICA
and NOVA.
 Flight
Seeing:
Two local companies offer flight seeing in the
Tahneeta Pass; one takes off on an airstrip at
Majestic Valley Lodge.
Four
Wheeling:
Four wheel excursions may be arranged
with
Alaska ATV
Adventures
or Alaska
All Terrain Tours.
Berry
Picking:
Majestic Valley is known for its juicy alpine
blueberries ripe for the picking towards the end of
August.
Winter:
 Cross-country
Skiing:
Majestic Valley grooms over 20 kilometers of
cross country skiing trails. They are groomed 8-10
feet wide and set with track. The trails are ideal
for skate or diagonal skiing. Maps are available of
the trails that meander through spruce forests and
along the 500 foot East Fork Canyon of the
Matanuska River. Ski rentals are available in
Anchorage.
 Snowmobiling:
Majestic Valley Lodge also grooms separate
snowmobile trails that allow riders to access
glacier, mountain, and tree riding excursions.
Guided snowmachine tours may be arranged while
staying at the lodge. Alaska
Snow Safaris
will provide equipment and guided service from
Majestic Valley Lodge.
Snowshoeing:
Limitless snowshoeing opportunities allow you
to explore the quiet winter forests. Snowshoe
rentals are available in Anchorage.
